For over a year, CWM staff and James Poudel corresponded by email and Skype. Finally in the fall of 2013, the staff traveled to Eastern Nepal to see first hand and participate in the ministry that James was leading. Lee Ann and Susan visited with the wonderful people of Dhankuta and surrounding areas. They also participated in Bible studies, toured the Agriculture and Research Center, taught a three-day women’s leadership conference and established a partnership for ministry. It was a wonderful experience. After meeting the Poudels and others in leadership positions and seeing how God was using them to expand his kingdom, the staff was excited about how God could bring our ministries together. In the January 2014 CWM leadership council meeting, the partnership with James was approved. We hope you will take a few minutes to enjoy some of the sights and sounds of Nepal. Balezino Bible Study House Fellowship
Most afternoons in the village of Dhankuta, the Christians gather in a home to worship and study the Bible. It reminds me very much of Acts 2:42 “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” The fellowship is multi-denominational and meets in different homes each day. We had the privilege of teaching during the week we were there. Click on the picture below for a sample of the worship.

Agriculture is an important part of the lives of many in Nepal. Our ministry partner there lives very close to the Agriculture and Research Center. It is not only a employer for people in that area, but also conducts important research and disseminates valuable information to many farmers. Women’s Leadership Conference
It was our great joy to lead a women’s conference in the beautiful mountains of Nepal. Some of the women traveled great distances and spent the night on the cold church floor in order to hear God’s Word. We were so blessed by their faithfulness, desire to hear from God and their willingness to participate and interact. It was a 3-day interdenominational conference coordinated by a committee of strong Christian women. We look forward to returning and leading another conference in the fall of 2014.
Click on the two pictures to the left to enjoy photos from the conference. You’ll see the church where the conference was held and the amazing view of the Himalayas. You’ll see the women praising God, receiving His Word, participating in a foot washing ceremony and praying. You’ll also see the beautiful faces of women seeking the power of the Holy Spirit.
While in Nepal, we stayed with the Poudel family. They are all so hospitable, preparing wonderful Nepalese food for us, providing us a comfortable to stay, and even having a great birthday celebration for Susan. They taught us some of their customs, introduced us to their friends, took us on a tour of the area and gave us many opportunities to share the Gospel. We look forward to all that God will do as we partner to expand the kingdom of God and share His love with the people of Eastern Nepal.
